This qualification has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to be able to work in the field of canine care.
Covering all breeds and sizes, learners will gain a full understanding of the basics in canine behaviour. This includes, understanding the signs of stress and aggression, as well as, learning appropriate canine training and how to provide enrichment.
On successful completion of the Level 2 Award in Canine Care and Welfare, learners may progress onto the Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare. Others have progressed directly into employment or self-employment in the canine sector.

What will you learn?
The Level 2 qualification in Canine Care and Welfare is ideal for gaining the fundamentals of a dog's basic needs, identifying breed differences, providing an understanding of dog behaviour, dog health and disease prevention. The course is a recognised Level 2 Ofqual regulated qualification with set learning objectives that meet the criteria set by the national qualification framework.
What is included:
The Level 2 Award in Canine Care & Welfare course consists of 2 modules, each focusing on a different aspect of dog care, welfare, health & behaviour in dogs.The course is assessed in line with the learning objectives set by the awarding body. All module assessments are to be submitted in the form of either a short essay or a summative assessment quiz.
